I am a student at Sweet Briar College studying Art History, English Literature, and French at the Sorbonne in Paris for a year.  I am participating in Sweet Briar’s Junior Year in France program, and their summer program as well. This summer I am also focusing on developing research on 19th century Parisian women artists for my upcoming Senior Honors Thesis. I’ll be blogging about my time abroad, and I would appreciate comments and suggestions!

Hello my sweet niece. I want to start off saying how proud I am of you. I brag about you every chance I get. It sounds as if you are still able to keep your humor amongst your language barriers. But I’m sure it will become less of a challenge. I bet you are hoping! I spoke with your mom the other day. She is so proud of you and I think a little heart sick. But it sounds like she has a lot going on in her life to keep her busy. Cecilia started kindergarten on the 28th and also broke her little wrist that same day. I took the girls to the park and she had a terrible fall. She’s ok. My gosh, it really must be a challenge there with the whole language because with your little french blurbs up have in your blog it’s confusing to me! Thanks for translating. Well, I just wanted to let you know that you have another blog fan. I love you Victoria and will keep checking up on you. Aunt Terri

It’s so good to hear from you! I’m glad that you’re liking my blog-it really helps knowing that the people I love are supporting me. I am having a lot of fun but it’s very up and down sometimes, adjusting to an entirely new life is not at all easy! I hope Cecilia’s wrist heals soon! She’s so spunky I know she’ll be just fine! I love you so much, tell uncle Dan I say hello, and kiss the girls for me and give a hug to Owen-he thinks he’s too big for kisses from me! All my love, Victoria

How are you? We just had dinner with your parents over the weekend. How is Paris treating you? Please feel free to contact us if you need anything. A great place there to meet people is the American Church. I met Marnie there,

        Take care,
